When I left Bangalore...

By the time I left Bangalore this time, I hated everything…I hated each and everything in Bangalore. I just wanted to reach back to Mangalore and never return back. In the last three weeks before I left Bangalore all I could hear around me from my loved ones was ‘EAT’, ‘EAT’, ‘EAT’. But ‘EAT’ what??? was my plight. For nearly one month I was not able to eat anything. I was just eating forcibly to keep myself alive.

In these two and half years, ‘Food’ is what made me hate Bangalore so much. This took me to the hospital too. Okay now, here as well, I could hear only one thing ‘EAT’… Sisters come with options we’ll prepare that…we’ll prepare this… Fine, I thought, I’ll eat something and I agreed for Oats porridge. Then, Doctor comes for rounds, asks the sisters what I had for lunch?
Their conversation goes this way:
Dr: What did she have?
Sr: Oats Sir.
Dr: Oats?!?!?!?!
Sr: Oats Porridge sir…(with an accent)
Once he left, sisters were repeating this dialogue so many times. It was fun for them..at first I was also laughing, but then…..

Staying 4 days in hospital I was fed up and lost all my patience on the day of discharge. I was expecting a discharge in the morning which didn’t happen. I just wanted to be back home. I just didn’t want to eat anything there. Sisters came with options again.. Rice ganji, Rava ganji, Oats Porridge, Soup etc etc.. I was fed up with all this. Only option which they didn’t have there was ‘Fruit Juice’. Finally, duty doctor came to pacify me. He was like, what you like to eat, we’ll do that for you. My response was,
‘NOTHING IS NICE HERE’… He was kind of excited with my response. He declared, ‘She doesn’t like to eat anything from this Hospital’, gave a smile and left the room. He didn’t leave me there. He asked the sisters to continue the Dextrose drips and followed by a bottle of multi-vitamin. Quite painful.. but it was better than eating something there at that moment.

Now, I’m home. There’s no ‘EAT’ mantra here ‘coz there’s no aversion in eating here. :) Saddest part is, whenever I’m back home, there was only non-veg food for me. And now, only veggie ghaas phoos. :( That too mom is worried what to cook everyday. I hardly eat hand counts of vegetables. But I eat whatever she cooks.

There are lot of people who come to Bangalore and they like the food there. But not for me. Then, my work which I love is pulling me back there. I’ve to be back for my work. I’ve to eat that food. I have to live there. This time I’ll be back with a change though. I’ll be back with a different view about Bangalore and the food what I’m going to have once I’m back there. :) Its not the best, but it’s not that worst too.

Don't......

Don’t care so much for me,
I may get used to it.
Don’t come so near to me,
I may not be able to detach from it.
Don’t put so much faith in me,
I may not be able to handle it.
Don’t touch me the way u do,
I may not be able to get over it.
Don’t become a part of my life,
Coz without u, I won’t be able to live it.
Don’t make me fall for u,
I may not be able to fall out of it.
Don’t come into my life,
If u have to leave one day.
Don’t give me the hope,
That it’s forever u r gonna stay.
Coz love is an emotion I won’t be able to hide,
When love isn’t reciprocated with love,
It hurts deep down inside.
Don’t start something
That I won’t be able to end.
Don’t make me believe
That u can be more than a friend.
Coz at the end of it all, I don’t wanna hear u say,
That, "I’m sorry,” but I never felt the same way!”

Bed Bug Infestation in Government and Private Buses

We all travel by bus for a long distance journey and all of you might have experienced the bed bug menace. There have been numerous people affected by an infestation of bedbugs while travelling in the private and public buses.

I travel every month through KSRTC Airavata or any private buses like Durgamba, Manjunath, Ideal Travels, VRL Travels, etc. The seats in almost all the buses will be filled with bed bugs. There are people who travel to Tamilnadu, Andra Pradesh, Kerala and other part of India who would have faced the same situation like me with bed bugs. All these buses are not maintained properly. These bed bugs not only troubles you while you are travelling but also come with you as a guest to your room and permanently settle in your room. There are people who have lost their sleep because of these bed bugs. Bed bugs are extremely difficult to get rid of, and left unchecked, can result in considerable time and money needed to protect you against them, not to mention overwhelming feelings of distress. These bugs feed on your blood.

Let's get rid of these bed bugs by signing the petition at:

Blueberry Hills ...ಹರಿ ಪದವು...

Heard of Blueberry Hills…? Earlier, it’s called as Hari Padav. I hail from this place and I’m blessed to hail from this part of Mangalore. Its one of the best places in Mangalore for morning jogs and evening walks. People of all groups come for morning jog and evening walks and relish the calm atmosphere.

Blueberry hills….my childhood memories are still alive…roaming and climbing the hills especially in the evenings, climbing trees :D to get cashews, picking up blueberries from the shrubs, flying kites...this one’s my favourites… evening walks.. playing cricket..volleyball which we didn’t miss any of the Sundays, having Omelette in the petty shops (Goodangadi) which had yummy taste. Life was bubbly and carefree then.

You get an enlivening view from the top of this hill with views of Arabian Sea, Infosys Campus, Mangalore helipad (Maryhill), Shopping Malls, Bungalows, Apartments, City, Krishna Palemar’s Landlinks Township with Cashew Trees, Blueberry Shrubs, Sandal Wood trees (Very few now), trees of different varieties around. It’s a pride that Mangalore’s only Software Technology Parks of India is located here. I used to work here for my former company Diya where my sentiments are emotionally involved.

Blueberry hills…sometimes back was a famous spot for couples. Couples used come for a ride around Blueberry hills and enjoy the sea view and cool breeze. Now, the landscape has got a different shape with the construction of Forensic Laboratory in that location. But still there are people who have their sentiments close to Blueberry hills come and take pleasure of the horizon.

Development is catching up in Mangalore and this development has a huge impact on the scenic beauties. Skyline Builders have touched the Mangalore soil and their first project is underway at Blueberry Hills. I’m pretty sure like any other places, Blueberry hills will also be packed with Apartments and Bungalows in a couple of years. Hope the builders will have mercy on nature and preserve its beauty as it is. My zeal for bucolic life is alive and I want to experience this beauty till the end. Good spirit alone has to save Blueberry hills from the builders who seem to be monsters to Nature. Save Nature and Save Blueberry hills.. Save our childhood memories and let our next generation have the benefit of natural world. :-)
